Remote Mail Installation

  1. Close your server software
  2. Copy the "Net.Dreams Remote Mail" plug-in and "Net.Dreams Remote Mail.cfg" configuration file into your server's plug-ins folder.
  3. Copy the "RM" folder into web server's root folder.
  4. Launch your web server

To run it, simply go to the URL "http://www.yourserver.dom/rm/login.remotemail". You will be asked for your POP server, account name and password.

Configuration is a matter of editing the "Net.Dreams Remote Mail.cfg" file and then re-launching your web server. The configuration file is heavily commented, and the settings are also described in this documentation.

Customization of the screens is simply a matter of editing the ".remotemail" files. Text inside square brackets "[ ]" are tags used by Remote Mail. By changing the HTML around those tags, you can customize the look and feel of Remote Mail. You can even have several different customizations of Remote Mail on the same server, all in different folders, all in use simultaneously by different users.

Sending Messages

If you wish to send email with Remote Mail, you must install and configure MailAgent 1.2 or higher (either Lite or Pro will suffice). A copy of MailAgent Lite is included with this package, and the price of Remote Mail includes a registered copy of MailAgent Lite.

Customers who have already purchased a stand-alone copy of MailAgent (ie: not bundled with any other Net.Dreams product) may be eligible to receive a discount on Remote Mail. If this applies to you, please note this in the comments box of your order form.
